Resiliency in times of Uncertainty The APA defines Resilience as the “process and outcome of successfully adapting to difficult or challenging life experiences, especially through mental, emotional, and behavioral flexibility and adjustment to external and internal demands.” Let’s come together this Sunday in community and discuss our paths going forward in this post-election time of uncertainty. How can we help ourselves and our families to be resilient in the face of a changing political landscape? There will be childcare for kids. Please join us. All are welcome! Leave No Trace - A program intended to inform about the damage caused by outdoor activities10/9/2024 Leave No Trace
Sean Mahoney is a leader and trainer for the national program entitled Leave No Trace. This is a program intended to inform about the damage caused by outdoor activities and remind us how to live and play with respect for the natural world and our fellow wildlife with whom we share this planet. Walk with Sean as he reinforces the ethics and skills that will allow us to act on behalf of the places and wildlife that inspire us. There will be an outdoor activity for the children. Our Ingathering and Water Communion Service always marks the start of our church year. We celebrate coming back together by pouring out water from our summer experiences. Some families share water that they’ve saved from a special occasion or meaningful experience, others offer water that they’ve collected while traveling, and members also bring water that is symbolic of summer happenings. Combining the water is a ceremony that represents how time spent apart is now joined back together in community. If you’re new to this celebration, we hope this announcement gives you time to think about or plan your sharing.
